This bold and energetic piece takes inspiration from both Renaissance icons and kitsch pop art, resulting in an explosion of shape and colour. I love the iconic nature of traditional Christmas stamps, and their perfect framing within their perforated rectangles. Contrasting these classical images with abstract forms creates a pleasing juxtaposition of styles. I used imitation gold and silver leaf amongst brightly coloured papers, acrylic and emulsion brushstrokes to create a vibrant statement piece.
