When you find beauty in all things,

all things can be beautiful

Hannah likes to work with mixed media and acrylic, on canvas and board. ‘I’ve loved using ephemera in my work since I first learned about Kurt Schwitters, Robert Rauschenberg and Ben Nicholson at school. Most pieces begin with an idea around certain colours and shapes, and I find the tickets, stamps and interesting scraps of paper I use can steer me in unexpected directions.’ Hannah also takes inspiration from artists such as Matisse and Picasso as well as the Bloomsbury Set. ‘My artwork inspires my interiors pieces and vice versa. There is no separation; they are all channels for my creativity.’

Hannah’s bold artworks can compliment both modern and traditional homes. ‘I favour abstract pieces above everything - creating them is like medication, and I find less structured ideas give the viewer more freedom in their interpretation.’ Hannah creates many of her textured collage materials herself, manipulating papers with paint and ink. ‘I use a lot of old maps, and I often see map-like shapes appearing in the finished compositions’.
